Ganit Sutra by Skillern Academy, Grades 4–10
Vedic Mathematics that strengthens how students think.
Vedic methods used to strengthen number sense, mental calculation, algebraic thinking, estimation and problem-solving, not just faster answers. Mapped chapter by chapter to CBSE/NCERT, CISCE/ICSE, Cambridge (CAIE) and IB (PYP/MYP), and delivered inside the school day by your own trained teachers.
Five pillars
- Number sense
- Mental mathematics
- Vedic techniques
- Mathematical thinking
- Application
Learning cycle
Understand, practise, apply, think.
Assessment
Topic-wise practice, timed mental-maths tests and mixed-method problem-solving. Accuracy is checked before speed.
The philosophy
Beyond speed tricks.
Vedic Mathematics is often taught as a set of calculation tricks. Ganit Sutra uses Vedic methods to progressively strengthen number sense, mental calculation, algebraic thinking, estimation and problem-solving. One thread runs from Grade 4 to Grade 10.
| Approach | Example | What it builds |
|---|---|---|
| Compensation instead of column addition | 48 + 27 → 50 + 25 = 75 | Mental mathematics |
| Squares ending in 5 | 35² → 3 × 4, then 25 → 1225 | Pattern recognition |
What students take away
Nine learning areas.
01
Number sense
Number relationships, patterns, digit sums and numerical confidence.
02
Speed and accuracy
Faster mental calculation while maintaining accuracy.
03
Multiplication
Multiple strategies and special-number methods.
04
Division
Efficient division methods and numerical reasoning.
05
Squares and cubes
Pattern-based methods for calculating squares and cubes.
06
Roots
Structured approaches to square and cube roots.
07
Divisibility
Quick divisibility recognition and checking techniques.
08
Problem solving
Choosing efficient methods and solving flexibly.
09
Application
Applying mathematical thinking to new problems.
Each learning area is assessed on its own evidence: topic-wise practice, timed mental-maths tests, mixed-method problem-solving and activity participation.
Mapped to your board, not sold as an add-on.
| Board | Mapping |
|---|---|
| CBSE / NCERT | Chapter by chapter, Grades 4–10 |
| CISCE / ICSE | Chapter by chapter, Grades 4–10 |
| Cambridge (CAIE) | Mapped separately to the Cambridge sequence |
| IB (PYP / MYP) | Mapped separately to PYP and MYP units |
